The city where we lived in southern California the temperature is usually regulated by the nearby ocean, therefore our house is not equipped with AC. Normally we never need it, when record-high temperatures hit southern California a few weeks ago, it quickly turned our place into a living oven. But guess what! 7/7 is one of our best days this year because we were invited to a house pool party to dodge the heat. And guess who’s coming to the party?
Tinkerbell and Tissue traveled all the way back down to LA that weekend, TT and I arrived at the house while their mom Jennifer tried to rush them outside to go potty. They saw each other through the window screen and got so excited and started to make crying noises 🙂
I feel y’all, I wanted to squeak when I saw you guys too!
Momo too was at the party, and it’s actually her mom’s idea to make this reunion happen, good call!
We had the entire pool to ourselves.
I really miss the time having you two and your mom around.
TT didn‘t stay in the water that long like Tissue or Tinkerbell did. He is not a toy driven dog, throwing stuff into the water does nothing to him unless I throw myself into the pool. As a matter of fact, that’s exactly how I taught him to swim years ago. TT would follow me to the end of the world.
Momo on the other hand loves frisbees and balls, but still hesitated to jump into the water. She was still at the learning stage.
We push the ball closer to make the game easy for her sometimes, baby steps.
We suggested Ivy take Momo’s life jacket off because I believe it does support one to float but somehow gives her a harder time to swim. I learned that from TT and my own experiences. Trying to swim also fighting with the resistance coming from a floaty wasn’t fun. But I will still throw a life jacket on TT if we were doing outdoors water activities for sure, just in case.
Momo later did way better swimming without it in pool.
Jennifer bought this tiny ball from a dollar store. It’s a great size for Tinkerbell and also cheap enough for heavy chewers.
I Turned around and surprised by what I saw.
What are you doing little one? Isn’t the floor too hot for you? Why don’t you stay under the shade?
I couldn’t even stand on the surface barefoot for a second, why do you like to bake yourself like a pizza TT?
This is the house owner’s husky Lionel, sadly he didn’t join us because Lionel doesn’t like water and is probably not trustworthy to go off leash.
Look! you are doing it Momo!
I have been overwhelmed by work for the past few weeks, now I finally have time to look back and put all the photos I took together for this post.
These shots gave me warm feelings and put a big smile on my face.
We human parents went to dinner after pool, I had flashbacks of our Oregon trip, Colorado, Utah, and so many other great memories when we set down.
I am so glad I spent time writing blog posts about those days so now I can look at photos and instantly teleport back in time. Viewing old posts to re-experience every single trip we did together.
