Car Accident Story – Part III

This is the fourth day after TT’s car accident, I feel way calmer than yesterday.
First of all I don’t blame Donner Truckee Veterinary Hospital for misdiagnosing TT’s condition. Donner Truckee was in fact the hospital that took TT in while he needed immediate attention after all. They helped TT to go through such enormous pain with medication, and also gave him a thorough full body checkup. Because everything they did, in the meantime I was able to put my attention on locating an animal hospital with an orthopedic department. I also have to mention that the night shift technician lady is wonderful, she has such an upbeat personality to calm me down, also given us tremendous help on hospital transferring.

I received a phone call from UC Davis, the doctor told me TT recovered well from the surgery and he has been very quiet the entire time (That doesn’t sound like him at all). The only issue is TT hasn’t eaten anything since he woke up from the anesthesia, the doctor joked about maybe the food they provided in the hospital tasted horrendous since TT has been on a yummy home diet his entire life. They gave TT intravenous glucose solution injection just in case and told me they will mix his food with different toppings later and see if that will encourage appetite. The amount of discharge from his drainage tube seems normal, so TT could be discharged from the hospital tomorrow afternoon.
I asked the doctor if TT will be able to handle taking a flight back to LA and she said it’s fine.

I contacted the rehab center and changed the appointment to September 5th at 8 in the morning for TT’s consultation. The entire process takes 2 hours and the consultation itself costs $290 with deposit up front. I quickly checked TT’s insurance policy content with Healthy Paws to make sure it covers rehabilitation treatments. Such a big relief they do.

I talked to the doctor again and set up an appointment to pick TT up tomorrow at 2PM. TT is still doing fine.
